Funny, I also recall the first time I heard this song. I picked up a copy of "Meanwhile" at a used CD store back in the early 90s purely based on the cover artwork. Place the CD into my car deck and was happily surprised by the first couple of tracks, "Ordinary Town" and "My Jealousy", but then when "Will You Be there" came on, I was blown away and continued to fall in love with the entire album. I loved it so much that I bought another used copy several weeks later when I saw it for sale again...just to have a backup copy. It wasn't something I was used to seeing at my local CD shop, and I was worried that if I ever scratched the disc I would have another copy!! I must have played that album 100 times that year alone! :D
